In 2017, a serendipitous alignment of aspirations led Kim and her daughters to embark on a transformative journey. Kim, yearning for reinvention, found herself at a crossroads. Kathryn, eager for a new challenge, sought an avenue to channel her energy. Meanwhile, Meredith, on the brink of college graduation, envisioned a platform to unleash her creativity and launch her interior design services. Together, fueled by their collective passion and determination, they took the leap to establish Danshire Market and Design. It became not just a store but a canvas where their individual talents converged, birthing a haven where curated beauty meets cherished memories.
Behind the name...
The name Danshire Market holds a deeply personal significance for the family behind it. It's a fusion of "Daniel" from Kim's father's name and "Yorkshire," the place where her maternal grandmother, Lillie Mae, resided. Dan's life took a dramatic turn when, at the age of 35, he faced a severe accident that led to the amputation of one of his legs. Despite the challenges, he demonstrated remarkable resilience in rebuilding his life. On the other hand, Lillie Mae epitomized strength and zest for life, living independently and driving well into her mid-90s. Her unwavering spirit in the face of adversity left an indelible mark on the family. The name Danshire is a tribute to these two remarkable individuals, honoring their resilience, strength, and unwavering love of life.
